1. Keep meal refrigerated until ready to cook.
2. Remove lid and add 2 cups water or beer.
3. If shrimp is included (in a steamer bag), remove and set aside for now.
4. Replace lid and heat on high. Once steam escapes (approx. 15–20 min), reduce to medium-high and steam for 18–20 min.
5. Add shrimp during the last 3–5 minutes of steaming.
6. Use caution when removing the lid—steam is hot!
7. Remove from heat and carefully take out seafood.
